Standard taps and die can be used to cut acrylic threads, but it is best to use coarse threads whenever possible as they are not easily damaged. Thread should not be stressed too much, if it may be frequently removed, it is not recommended to thread acrylic. In this case, threaded metal inserts are recommended.
